They had to rely on heavy technology to meet with their teachers but experienced no substitute for the social interaction with other kids they were once getting. While this impacted all students, we’re focused on how it impacted elementary school kids today. These are kids who, during the most formative years of schooling, had to learn how to read, write, and do basic math by themselves in their rooms. We aim to examine how kids’ learning abilities and social skills changed during the pandemic and how significant a toll it took on their development. This episode looks at the pandemic’s social and emotional repercussions on elementary school-aged kids.
